Winchester Model 94 Lever Action 44-40

Need to clean out a few items from the safe to fund others.
Winchester Model 94 Lever Action 44-40 in very good condition. 490mm / 19.3" barrel with very good bore, full length magazine. Rear v sight (not a buckhorn), front bead with hood! Blue in very good condition apart from some very light corrosion on LHS of receiver and mark on RHS of barrel. See pics. Stock and forewood VGC. Original butt plate. I was told it was manufactured in 1976 but buggered if I can find where this is stamped.
    $800
Pretty easy to get it moved around the country with friendly dealer at my end and myself or others travelling from time-to-time.

If only I had $800 and an understanding wife.
Working on both, but these things take time.

    Beautiful looking rifle.

    Cheers

I think it is 10 in the mag but I have no ammo for it to try out. I bought it a while back with intent for Cowboy action and maybe using black powder cartridges but have never got around to using it.
Does anyone on here know from their own experience how much the mag holds?

If no one chimes in, I will track down some ammo and fill 'er up.

    A ‘73 with 20” barrel holds 12 rounds of 44-40

Winchester 94 is in the buy back list.
    $2375 for good condition.
You appear to have missed the boat.
Best get the mag modified by an approved gun smith.

It doesn’t have to be modified by an approved gunsmith

Just whipped down to the local shop and loaded it up with some ammo - only holds 10. Has been modified at some stage. So yes, still for sale.

Still pissed off I didn't pick it up earlier though... sure, it's a nice rifle but I would have taken 2-3x the asking price from all our tax payer pockets and let it get crushed.
And in the next breath cry about all the much more beautiful and/or historic firearms that are now gone.
