    Wood for goat horn trophy

    Hi guys had anyone got any suitable wood lying around for my goat horns, I want to make a "classy" small shield type display thinking rimu or walnut etc happy for wood recommendations too or can anyone recommend a place to get said wood?

    a pine ring looks pretty cool with the bark attached , laminated

    im going mount my goat and fallow head that came from the same block onto a totara post that came from the same block, leave the post as long as possible and mount one at top and one in the middle. Have mounted Chamois on them before too

    I have a slab under the house. With bark attached and all if your interested. I'll need half of it. It's Rimu, in the mighty Bay of plenty.

    Head out onto the farm/ river/beach and have a look for the ugliest, gnarly beat up moss and lichen covered piece of wood you can find.

    They make awesome mounts for Goat Horns exuding heaps of character.

    Best thing is they are free too.

    What do you call small ? If your down the plains anytime your welcome to rummage thru what I have , got all sorts natives to exotics
