WTB a 2.5-10 or 3-12 Magnification hunting scope.

    Hi Guys,

Have browsed through the buy or sell section and haven't really come across any of these so here it goes..

Looking for a 2.5-10 or 3-12 magnification scope (friends with 3-9x40s say if they could do it again, either of these is what they'd get) to chuck on a
Tikka t3x Lite (7mm 08) which ill go pick up as soon as my license arrives in the mail....

Have been looking at the following:

    Nikon monarch 3 2.5-10x42 and 3-12x42
    Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12x42
    Nikon Prostaff 5 2.5-10x40
    Bushnell Elite 4500 2.5-10X40
    Bushnell Trophy Xtreme 2.5-10x44
    etc etc...

Most of these are all just out of my price range though. $500 ideally, $600 TOPS. So i thought i'd try see if i can get one used

    any out there?

    Cheers
    Jan
By law, you are required to turn on your headlights if it's raining in Sweden.

How the hell am I supposed to know if it's raining in Sweden?

Every now and then a decent VX3 or VX3i comes up on here and shouldn't be too far from your price range if it's the x10 one.
Might happen a little sooner since people know your looking for one.

How is the 3.5 magnification on the bottom end? sort of concerned about it being too much magnification in the bush. or am i being silly?

(only been for one hunt in nz with a mate who had open sights so im not sure, i am new to it all and only going by what work colleagues and mates have told me)

    Cheers!

Nah, she's alright. A lot of guys consider 4 power to be ideal for in the bush. It's been on my 308 which is a 16" bush pig anyway.

Bought a 2-10 Zeiss hd5 on the weekend.

Took it back, went for the 3-15 instead.

Regarding the Burris Signature selects, I own a set of the Binos and have a Vortex 4-16 HST. I did a light test the other night with them both on 10x. The Burris shat on the vortex and gave me at least another 15-20minutes. 2.5-10 or 2/3-12 is a handy magnification range that gives you the range without a heavy as f scope. Take a look at the Weaver Grand/superslam series also
