    WTB: 303 Ammo

Looking to by a bunch of 303 ammo.

Not rats and mice, a nice solid chunk that's all the same or similar.

This will be my first 303 so have a little learning to do. What are the characteristics of the MK VII. Is it corrosive and what is it charged with. Ta.

its mill 174gr fmj. Cordite. Yes the primer material is corrosive but that's generally spoken about out of proportion. If you clean the rifle after use then its fine, some start with boiling water and insist on it but any good cleaning regime will be fine.

I made a couple of brass jigs with hardened steel inserts in my first year as an electrical fitter - one for 303 and one for 30.06 - we drilled them with a 1/16
Six of us spent our first year in the workshop training and most were hunters
I started with a 303 but soon changed to 30.06 - both worked fine on deer goats and pigs - wish I had kept them - but easy to build

Alonzo, Mk7 is the best load for most lee Enfields.
It was made for a long time so it can be variable.
