    WTB 44-40 Lever Action

I am wanting to buy a lever action in 44-40, or maybe 45 Colt.

Just wanting to find out if anyone has one that they want to sell.

Ideally a Winchester or a Henry would be nice, but a Rossi would be ok I guess.

Let me know if you have one to sell and a price so I can decide what I want to do.

What are you going to do with it?

Ampro have got at least one new blued Rossi 92 20'' carbine left in .44/40. I would get it if you can as I am not sure if Rossi will continue manufacturing them in .44/40.
Get your local gunshop to order it in, price should be $859.00

(You will have to reload for .44-40. Because factory ammo is ridiculously expensive, and because its also underloaded and only for target shooting. )

    Heres mine:

And just to inspire you further, here is my .44-40 Winchester '73

johnd, hotbarrels, Maca49 and 1 others like this.

The plan for it is Cowboy Action Shooting.
    The Winchester would be nice

And I would definitely reload, I have the molds for casting and have some cases as well.
I still have a few hundred 45 Colt cases and dies left as well, so that's always an option.

If your doing cowboy action shooting you really should get a Uberti '73 or a '66. Thats what nearly all of them use now. Hayes and Associates sell them in NZ

I might have to ring them and see what they have, couldn't find a stock list like they used to have. But a Uberti is towards the top of the list

I sold a 92 44WCF on here two days ago, but as CH said the preferential rifles for CAS are 66 and 73 Winchesters and 94 Marlins. The occasional Uberti 66 and 73 clone pops up on YouTube, both of which short stroke kits are available for.

I did see yours for sale, but as usual I sat on my hands too long and missed out.
I have a few other things to buy as well, so I will get the AR kitset whilst I wait for one to pop up.

A '73 Winchester would be nice.

I'm sure one will come up for sale at some stage.

I have a 45/70 as well. I had a 45 Colt, 35 Rem, and 444 Marlin but sold them due to having to pay bills. Now I'm trying to get another 45 Colt or 44/40
