WTB: AR15 .22 LR conversion kit or complete upper

Prefer CMMG or similar, either considered but I don't really want to have to replace barrels, handguards etc to get something I'm happy with.

Haha that'll teach me not to read. That's going to require the aforementioned swapping out of handguards, changing barrel etc, though. Goddamn why did they put that stupid fake gas block on a rimfire barrel

To be honest, my CCMG conversion shot better in the 1:8 223 barrel than it does in a dedicated CMMG .22 barrel setup
2 mins more cleaning of chamber and that's it

Interesting. I've heard too many reports of them not working at all in faster twist barrels due to tumbling bullets. and I have 1:7"

Pretty sure mine is a 1:8 - would have to check - could be a 1:9?
The Ceiner mags are throw away - don't even bother with them
Conversions are all almost the same
Heaps of oil, run it with supers and let it get filthy, keep running it, run some more then clean it and won't have any issues
The only time my gun has EVER jammed was with Ceiner mag - black dog and CMMG it will run till it goes click
Prob had 3k rounds through it now

They are $419US brand new from Brownells and in stock, for a complete upper. With all associated fees and shipping it'd be around $750NZ to import a complete dedicated .22 upper. $799 for the kit alone is a joke. NZ sellers have got to stop buying things at US retail price then trying to sell here for retail+50%

I have witnessed a friend hit 8" diameter steel plates on tap at 150m running .22lr through a 1:7

I have also run subs and standard velocity through .22 uppers and conversion kits without many hiccups, YMMV of course.

Worst experience I have was with a friends Ciener kit - I was firing it so fast I got an out of battery discharge. Almost blew my right ear drum out, and ended up with a .22 bullet stuck just short of the gas port. Lucky I checked for a squib before putting my 5.56 bolt back in

    Good fun.

I got my cmmg 22 upper from targetsports $790
i didnt want to piss round taking barrel off etc but hated those shitty handguards, so out with the dremel and a very careful 20 mins later, off comes the delta ring and on goes 9" samson rail. only had to remove the flash hider to get the fake gas block off.
