    WTB A Cat AR15

Anything considered particularly if it's cheap but here are my requirements:

    .223/556
    Reasonably light, reasonably accurate.
Happy with a shortish barrel i.e. a carbine not a rifle
Prefer non chromed decent quality barrel but will consider chromed.
Flat top receiver - I don't need back up sights.
    Mount for 1 inch scope
Prefer AIL Skeleton stock but can swap that out so not a show stopper.
Free floated front tube preferably without tacticool rails although I can add that later.
Lightweight suppressor although not too worried as I can add that later.
Good trigger would be a plus but as with suppressor I can add that later.

I would like to step up from the bottom tier guns. Looking at Windham Weaponry, Spikes, Stag, Colt etc but anything considered.

I have cash burning a hole in my pocket. PM me if you have something suitable.

Correct, have a flick through his Facebook page for some ideas, mines from him. Think I paid 1900 or something I've then added the Samson and stock, but his build your own kits make that even cheaper now. @Digit

Here's my CMMG Mk4 RCE that I got from NZAR15.com

Extras I got from new were the stock and a 2 stage wasp trigger.

Very Happy with the end result.

Get it fitted with a shorter free float hand guard and a suppressor and this might fit your requirements.

I used to have one, I found it good and it did the task. I didn't like the turrets though. Found it would get caught on stuff and move so I was always having to check they were on zero. I am certainly glad I upgraded though. But for the price of those nikons you can't really complain

    Bloody good so far.

Optics are good and everything on it seems to work how it should.

I bought it from a Bass Pro shop in Las Vegas last year.
    They were only around $60us
It was one of the few scopes they had for AR15's that was not on the ITAR list

I've owned Nikons for years and have always had a good run with them

Haven't used this rifle for bush stalking or any serious low light conditions yet but the Goat numbers in the forestry have certainly decreased.

The mount keeps the scope quite low and I haven't had any issues with bumping the turrets while using it.

Although that's not really and Issue as you can always periodically check the settings and reset them if they have moved.

One thing I have noticed is you can empty a mag real quick using an AR15 when you get onto a mob.

The other thing that took a bit of getting used to was when settling in behind the scope I was conscious of the tip of my nose just resting on the charging handle.
Subconsciously I was thinking to my self Fark I hope this doesn't come back when I squeeze the trigger.

    Cheers
    Pete

One way to stop the turrets being bumped and moved is to apply a turn or two of electrical tape to them if you think this is going to be an issue hunting in the thick stuff.
