Thats an odd RPM. Sounds American 60hz. 4 pole 50hz is 1400 RPM and 2 pole is 2800.

Spanners, do you want an old one or a new one? We do Parvalux and GGM geared motors at work.
Getting older is compulsory, growing up is entirely optional.

New or old - depends on cost.
Was thinking washing machine but would have to pull apart a machine at work here to see what it looks like.

I have a 1400 rpm motor 50hz ....too gutless for the small drill press, doesn't have HP rating but its 1.5 amps. If its light load work is that enough?

Kept it incase I build a spit but then I was going to power that with 12V so it could be used anywhere.... and I dont have time to build it anyway... guns are more important

    1.5A 24V = 360W. Roughly 740W per HP to that should be about a 1/2 Horse motor.
