After a lot of reading looks like the go to powder for 140gn-142gn in 260AI. Really keen to get hands on some.

    What barrel length?

I went away from RL17 in mine.
Went great but I never seemed to have or could get enough when I needed it.

24".... RE22 is possible but RE17 seems to do best followed by H4350.

Same length as mine. Superperformance is worth a try with 130 class bullets.

Good ol 2209 (very close to 4350) goes great in mine.
Not as fast as RL17 but as accurate. Cheap and available.
I get 2900 with 140s and 3000 with the 129/130 bullets I use on the first firing of a formed case with a cold fouled barrel. Accuracy improves and it speeds up slightly by the 3rd firing.
    Are you using magnum primers?

Have a stack of 2209 and would be stoked with 140gn @2900fps...will fireform lapua 260Rem brass. Yes I use CCI LR mag primers for everything.

Why the lift by 3rd firing? Once formed they should be consistent no?

Never had much luck with the CCI mag primers in anything else but they are what work best in my .260 AI also.
Norma or rem brass go best in mine as well. It didn't like Lapua. I have no theory as to why. Cheap goes best in my gun so I won't complain😆

It is noticable but not much. But yes, you would think so. I suppose/assume everything settles and is formed properly by the 3rd go.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I'm interested to hear from you guys that use the Reloader17 powder on how you find it for temp stability? I have read a lot on the American forums where guys say they work up a reasonably hot load to get the speeds they want, then go out and shoot it on a particularly hot day (hotter than during load development) and end up with major pressure signs? I assume the same would happen in reverse also, ie: colder day, slower speeds?

That is a myth I think within reason of temp extremes. Apparently it has a stabiliser blended in rather than sprayed on.
