    Wtb/know what rings I need

Got a leupold coming for my tikka and was told I should put decent rings on it and get rid of the stock tikka ones. Any ideas? And does someone have some to sell?

Upgrade to the Sako Optilocks (for Tikka's straight rail, not the Sako angled rails).

What size scope? 40mm or 50mm objective?
    1" or 30mm tube?

Optilocks spend the extra money and never look back.

I have used these PRW Rings Leupold PRW 30mm High Rings 54177 - Rings - Gun Parts - Reloaders Supplies Ltd (you ll need to say PRW STEEL 1 INCH LOW TYPE))
plus one of these EGW Tikka T3 Rail 0 MOA - Bases - Gun Parts - Reloaders Supplies Ltd on all my Tikkas never ever had any problems.
The rail is normally too long so I mock assemble then cut it to suit before final fitting .

Size: 49.9 KB It does let you play with any standard scope rings should you change tack at a later stage..

I have had issues with the optilocks on my last tikka. I now have Tikka specific Warnes and they are the ducks nuts. Have never had a POI change and would rate them above optilocks. Just look at the mounting clamp area on the optilocks compared to the warnes. The warnes have twice the clamp area, mounting screws and half the price.

Something like a 260 may be fine with the low recoil. Even on my old tikka. 300 mag the standard rings were fine for a while, until one day at the range I just couldn't get it to group. When I took the rings off they had a pin in them that sticks down in the reciever, it was bent like / and weren't nice to get off. I have always used Talleys since then and have never had an issue. Gunworks sell them for like $115 I think in any height/size you want pretty much

Burris signature rings are worth a look. They have the rubber collars that protect your scope from crushing and marks..

Warnes on the 7 mm Rem Mag for me.... Optilocks were stupid money for no discernible increase in value. Make sure if you have something like this calibre wise they're seated right and locked in place but - then its all good !!!

Tracks like a star on my Leupold CDS...
