    Christ $900 for a no.8? He's optimistic....

My No.8 cost me less than $400 and I'd say mine is in much better nick than that.

He might have sold it outside TM and doesn't want to pay them the withdrawal fee.

Na,he has been relisting it for a long time. No8's seem to go for $400-600 depending on condition at arms auctions.

Really want a real No9 and will pay real $$ for one- or can trade ammo/guns

Someone must have one-or do I have to wait for some old collector to die and buy it from his money grabbing family?

Ha, if you didn't get onto one of the couple of 100 or so sold off out of the Cadets auction at Turners in Wellington, likely you will be lucky to stumble over one in the wild. I believe a decent quantity of those have been exported, as NZ got the bulk of the 2500 conversions done by Parker Hale. I did see several local-converted ones, without the PH markings so who knows how many are actually out there. A decent quantity were declared unfit and broken up prior to auction.

Suggest the two main militaria auctions, and Antique Arms if you haven't tried them yet. I have a spare No.8, but I'm of the opinion that the days of $400-$600 No8's are done and dusted. There aren't any left to come onto the market, what's in private hands now is all there will be. I've seen them sell on consignment in gunshops at over the $1K a couple of times now!

I have no idea what you could get for a #9 now, if advertised where the rest of the world can get involved who knows. I've been looking for a while as well, learned to shoot on those in the cadets. A #7 (yes there are around 6 in NZ) - likely several K's?

    Anyway, good luck!

Yea, 116 in the wild in NZ at the end of the auction-who knows now.

No harm in looking, someone will want to to sell one one day for some reason.

There was one at the teds auction a year or so ago-I stopped bidding at $1100,but knowing what I know now would have kept bidding.

Already have a No8 but would really like a nicer one-if you have a "nice" one-relatively speaking that you want to part with pm me some pics or a email and we can talk about a price
