I made mine, replaced primer with hot air welding rod.
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out." -

Rubber is better. Some guys use a fired case but that could lead to an unfortunate mistake

    I use these A-Zoom ones in 12 ga, .223 and .308
Machined from solid aluminium then red anodised. Tough nylon "primer".
    Cheap too $20 a pair.

Now here's an interesting theory that my gunsmith mentioned.
So the snap caps take the pressure off the firing pin springs.
All good if you only have extractors.
But if you have ejectors then they now come under pressure and remain so till you next use your shotgun
Catch 22. The question I then asked my gunsmith was.
What is more expensive and more likely to brake. Firing pin springs or erector springs.
The answer yep more expensive to repair the ejector springs. Also these have a tendency to brake in some guns when under pressuer for a long time.
So I chucked me snap caps.
    rockland likes this.
It's all fun and games till Darthvader comes along
I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.
