Like buying a mark 4 copy and expecting s&b performance

What wire size are you thinking of running?
Why do you need a pulse mig?

Fark, this is the welding equivalent of "what rifle" and "what calibre" all rolled into one.
Look up the local welder repairer. Have a talk to him and see if he has anything there that the owner has not collected.
8m Push pull are good. May have to synchronized. A lot of money for a small boat build

Our one was 25k (all be it over 10 years ago so that probably makes it worse)

You could get one for (and I am guessing here) way less than half of that now.

Pulse is nice but you don't "need" it, a pull handpeice is more of a must especially if you want to run less than 1.2mm wire(which you can get away with in a budget mig with a short lead)
