    WTB - Rem700 parts

    Hi

I'm still on the look out for some Rem700 parts. Its a long term project, so no imediate rush...but if you've got some of the below and are willing to sell, let me know by PM please.

    All parts for Long action:

    1. Bolt
    2. Mag spring & Follower
    3. Trigger pins
    4. Bolt stop & spring
    5. Action screws
    6. Recoil lug

Let me know if you have anything in the list?

    Many thanks

    kj

You might have trouble getting a bolt, but Gunworks are selling the PTG bolt with M16 extractor for about $235, they need a bolt handle($80 to fit + cost of handle) and the firing pin assembly ($110). Will cost over $400 all up though.

I've been advised against the M16 extractor for a 700.
What size case is the mag spring for?

Loss of strength at overload condition so I have been told. My only 700 has a Sako type and I cannot see much difference.

There is a big difference between a M16 & Sako, the M16 has a pin through it & the Sako doesn't.

So if major shit was to happen the M16 is more likely to stay where it is.......which would be a good thing

Hi Greg, take it you've got a PTG bolt coming? Could be keen on your old one if that's the case?

the Mini M16 extractor is half the thickness of the Sako so the cutout isn't as deep....More strength left around the bolt lugs?

Not sure about the M16 std one?

The deeper part of the cut is further back than the Sako

If you look at any Tikka T3 it has a sako style extractor and an open port when the bolt rotates and engages on the locking lugs...the same as a Model 700 with sako style extractor. This would cause the same problems if there was a problem with case separation or similar in the breech

Why do Tikka T3's not get the same "frowned upon" publicity as a Remington Model 700 with a sako extractor?

Never a word is mentioned about the hundreds of Tikka T3's with the same potential problem

US law system scares everyone versus European law huh ?
