I have one of gunworks suppressed .410's and it works very well with subsonic ammo. I use a red dot sight on it and treat it like a rifle fir pest control places where noise is a issue and a subsonic .22 is a hazard.
From memory he does them in batches every so often and the price was less than you may think-have seen them sell on trademe for more than he sells them new for!

Hunting and fishing Hamilton has one in store second hand. Saw it last week. Single shot Baikal... Sorry but cannot remember the price.

If you are interested a suppressed 410, I suggest that you look up hushpower uk on the net. It has various articles regarding suppressors on shotguns for pest control etc. I have previously looked at getting one of their suppressors and getting it fitted to a 410 shotgun.

Prob with hush power is that they are effectively a muzzle suppressor with rear chamber as per most over barrel rifle but you have a big opening.
Robbie and more recently companies like Redjacket have tested and porting the barrel is much more efficient as it allows the gas to enter the tube while the wad and shot is still in the barrel rather than relying on it heading 2ft back only once it gets to the muzzle rather than the path of least resistance which is out the front
There is a big difference in noise reduction via porting

I was thinking the same thing about the subby ammo as I have been toying with building one of these but have been put off by maybe having to load subs and not having reload gear.

Would a ported design not bleed of velocity in a similar manner to the fully suppressed .22's around, ie when you put HV through them they are still silent as no sonic crack?

It doesn't bleed as much velocity out as it does help with noise.
I'm not sure but I think supers are still super

Both, when I bought the gun gunworks had some subsonic shells(f%#king expensive!!) but since then a friend has loaded some up for me. Reloading .410 is very cheep but fiddly. For me it's a very low round count gun, probably only fired 300 rounds in five years or more. If I used it more I would buy the reloading gear myself

@res is yours one of the ones built on an enfeild action? Got any photos on here? @Spanners have you thought of building one? The over barrel ported design that Hushpower is using looks fairly simple to machine. I found that they make ported barrel style suppressors as well as the can type you mentioned above.

Let us know how you get on, it's a pretty neat concept that doesn't appear too common yet.
