    WTB tired Blaser R93 barrel and Mag inserts

    I am wanting to buy a worn out Blaser R93 barrel as a donor for a 6.5 PRC carbon barrel project. Also keen to get an R93 WSM or Magnum Magazine insert.

    I have a surplus R93 standard right hand bolt head if that is useful in the trade?

    Did you use the WSM mag insert for a WSM or another short magnum? I would appreciate advice on whether the WSM insert would be best bet for a 6.5 PRC or would it be better to go full magnum length insert in order to seat projectiles out further?

    The WSM mag insert is fine for my 6.5PRC (143/147gn eld) gives me about 3.080” and my loads are around 2.94?

    @PerazziSC3
    Hardy’s and plenty ($1500?) I’m not entirely happy with it, copper fouls quite a lot and accuracy isn’t as good as I’d expect a match barrel to be, your welcome to come have a look at it.

    I have not worn one out yet - perhaps "neglected" would be a better word. I have seen a few barrels where the owners did not get on top of the copper fouling and ended up with pitting particularly around the muzzle end. Blaser barrels are hammer forged and in my experience copper fouling is a fact of life while running in a barrel. I had a .223 barrel that I didn't consider properly run in until it had 200 plus rounds through it and regular laboriously cleaning. After that it became a breeze to clean

    Im very interested on how you progress. Been a bit curious about the procedure for rebarrelling using an older donor. Keep us updated!

    Hugh Bradley does them as well but isn’t a fan of these new fangled calibre's, Tracey Short did one for one of the lads on here as well.
