Wish it was small, mrs used my hunting knife to slice up the lambs we got at Dundee while I was out on a job yesterday. She managed to trim off two of her fingertips

Hope it wasn't to bad. But nothing teaches as fast as pain. If she had a glove on she would have wrecked your knife and not learned from the experience. The fact that she did two fingers does make me wonder if she should be allowed near anything sharp though.

Sounds like it doesn't need sharpening at all. I only sharpen my wife's knives to "sharpe enough" status, any sharper and there are "incidents".

Don't need one in my house. I can't sharpen a knife to save myself. In fact I buy my filleting knives from the local supplier for the commercial guys.

When its too blunt or I have blunted it further trying to make it sharper, I go buy a new one. $20 is cheaper than $45+ for the same knife elsewhere

I do have a filleting glove which is made of some type of coated, knitted wire and its been bloody good and this one looks even better
