WTS Mossberg MVP, Mossberg Maverick 88 & Winchester Defender

Well I've just found a rifle that I absolutely must have so I am offering the following for sale.

#1 Mossberg MVP. (brand new in packaging)
This is a awesome rifle I own another that gets a lot of use, this one was going to be paired up with a red dot for fun with high capacity magazines as the other wears a 3 power scope that's a little slow when trying to shoot fast.
These accept AR15 magazines, and as its bolt action you can use any size magazine you wont.
Comes in optional packaging hasn't even been removed from the bag yet.
Spearmags do a decent 30rd magazine for $75 AR15 Mags & Stocks, Spear Mags Ltd - Quality Firearms and Accessories
These retail at $1200. This one is yours for $850

    5.56mm NATO (.223 Rem.)
20" Sporter Fluted Barrel, Matte Blue Finish
    Laminated Sporter Stock
    Spiral Fluted Bolt
10 Round Magazine - also uses aftermarket AR-15 Magazines
    Weaver Style Bases Included
LBA Lightning Bolt Action Adjustable Trigger

    Specifications
    Calibre: 5.56mm NATO (.223 REM.)

    #2 Mossberg Maverick 88
Brand new unused, Has been in the safe around 6 months but never leaves as the Winchester 1300's do all the work.

Accepts standard Mossberg chokes/ Browning invector chokes/ Win chokes They are all the same thing just given proprietary names.
Comes with X full extended choke.
    Paid $500 Yours for $380

    Gauge: 12
    Chamber Size: 3"
Capacity: 6 (includes 1 in the chamber)

    #3 Winchester Defender
One of the new defenders made since Winchester went under in 2006.
Retail at $650 I paid $550 the original fired 12 shots. Yours for $450
This hasn't seen any use since ive owned it as I started purchasing original 1300's just before I picked this one up and they get all the use.

DAMNIT, why do all the shortish barrelled shotguns that can take chokes come up AFTER a fork out $1049 for one?

It never hurts to have a second one in the safe and at $380 your not going to find one cheaper.

Out of interest (not that I need one), but whats the advantage/disadvantage of the shorter barrel? Is it just the same as a rifle with portability/manoevrability vs velocity, or are there other factors with a shotgun?

Neither gun is so extremely short to handicap them all that much.
Yes shorter barrels are going to give you more maneuverability at a cost of slightly less velocity.
The Mossberg takes chokes so the patterns arnt going to suffer.
The Winchester is a cylinder bore so great for slugs and buckshot and all other close in fun.
