WTS No1 Mk4 bayonet, brass, charger clips

No 1 Mk4 with matching numbers, number 1 bolt head, 44 loaded rounds 174 gr FMJBT that she shoots great with.

Spike bayonet and a lot of brass. 200+ haven't bothered counting.

Bore is dark but good, plenty of rifling and shoots well.

    Usual minor dings in wood.

    $700 posted.

Shot it with the ammo supplied and it did 3 x 3 shot groups, 1", 1.5", 1.6"

I would say it is a consistant 2" shooter

    Pretty impressive.

Just to clarify. Its a No4 Mk1STAR - the star is important. It denotes a change from Mk1 1941/42 period. So that matches the SN on the rifle too.
The Longbranch denotes it was made at the Longbranch factory in Canada.

The only downsides of Mk1star, are that the original Mk1 without the star is more sought after as it had european walnut wood, and the older rear sight with twist screw adjust in 1/2MOA adjustment, whereas the Mk1* had the newer singer sight which adjusted in 50yd intervals only if loaded with the milsurp ammo of the time.

Its a bloody good rifle though. The No4's are the most sought after and considered the pinnacle of Lee Enfields.

I think its the hole drilled for mounting rear aperature sights. Lee Enfield Aperture Sights -

If you have the aperature sight it makes the rifle more collectable.

So I'm trying to live a pure life and commit to just one rifle, I've dug deep weighed up the pro's and con's and decided on the keeper, but..............

every time I open the laptop I see another rifle trying to tempt me..........

no wonder I'm on my third marriage!
