WTS Weatherby Mark V 7mm08, Stug carbon fibre stock

Looking at getting rid of this, Weatherby Mark V 7mm-08, (6 Lug action). The stock is a Stug carbon fibre sako 75 style inletted for the weatherby with a limbsaver recoil pad (weighed it at 618g) that I can sell it with or just with the factory plastic one. Had the barrel shortened to 20inches, 1/2-28 thread, rifle has been bedded by Greystone in the stug stock, had the trigger lightened at the same time too, but it's fairly rough. Bare rifle with the carbon fibre stock is 5lb 7oz (2.46kg). Wanting around $1600 with the Stug stock. Bought as a second 7mm-08 to try out with 162gr amaxes, they seem to stabilize but can't seem to get the rifle to shoot consistently. I also think there also might be a burr in the chamber due to a small mark on the neck of the cases after ejecting, have tried to get it to someone with a bore scope but can't find anyone that has one. Bought second hand so no clue how many rounds has gone through it, I've put just over 100 through it. My plan was to put a new barrel and trigger on it but can't afford it. Got talley 30mm rings available too if anyone wants them. Would be keen on selling the stock separately if anyone wants it, make an offer. PM me if interested. Doesn't include the scope.

Considering that the barrel is poked and it needs a trigger job and a check over by a gunsmith I'd give you 1k.

It's had a trigger job, it's just inherently not the smoothest trigger, and it also had a look over by the gunsmith when it was there. Was hoping for a wee bit more than that.

I don't think the bolt face is big enough for magnum sized cases. It does look like it can be converted to a long action by machining out the channel in the bolt that the bolt stop runs in. The magazine also has a stopper that allows it to be used as a short action, so you can remove it and find a new follower for the mag and it would make a pretty good 280ai or .284.

Hi would this stock fit a Howa 1500? I think the vangard stocks work but not sure if all weatherby stocks do. How much you after for just the stock? cheers
