    1-8 power scopes

Hey guys, I'm looking at putting a 1-8 or something simialar with a low powered bottom end on my bush gun. Any recommendations or models I should steer clear of? Could be keen to do a deal for my z5 3.5-18x44 if someone has something.

    Cheers

I run a vx3i 1.5-5 on my bush gun and its great. Super light and quick on target. If I was doing it again I probably go with the 2-7 for little bit more on those longer shots.

I suggest you consider a 2.5-8 VX3 for the bush gun. My long range gun wears that Z5

I put a Leupold VX-3i 1.5-5x20mm on my dedicated bush gun. No complaints.

For a long time I used a 4x32 Kahles with very heavy outer reticle cross. Because the magnification is always the same my brain got trained to the image which made it very fast to get on target. What ever you get I would be looking for a scope at least as good as the Z5 in poor light but with a heavier reticle.

In 1-8 you end up quite a heavy optic. Like I don't know any lighter than you Z5. Some alright options in the 1-6 range etc. I have an Atibal XP8 1-8 that's nice but just purchased a VX6 1-6 so it's being replaced. It's a nice scope but the Leupolds got a bit more classic lines to suit the lever action.

    I love my 2-7VXR firedot

downside is a 30mm tube and the extra turret on what would be the smooth side of the scope for the button/battery

i have the 2.5-8 vx3 and recently parted ways with a varix 11 2-7 and neither holds a candle to how nice the vxr is

even at two power you see a lot of suppressor in the scope, so before you sacrifice top end magnigication for it just check that you like how it looks when you bring the gun to your eye,
I like smaller scopes but I always seem to run them on 4 power

Have a look at the Swarovski z8 epic glass 42 metre field of view at 100 metres very nice to use and very light 18 oz for a 30mm tube.
Watch for one second hand come up now and again for good prices

I use a 1.5 to 6x (Nighteater) and find it great. My Brother uses a Vortex spitfire fixed 3x and I have been really impressed with that.

They are discontinued now too so don't break it. I tried to find one but couldn't.
