The last S and the A that follow it stand for Semi and Auto. We need to stop worrying about bolt actions, pumps, levers. No one even knows what they are.
Ah ok. Cool. One of the things i hate about my rifle is that the 5 shot mag is totally concealed (ie easier to forget and leave it attached which is a big no no)
I'd rather a concealed mag than a bloody big box sticking out the bottom digging ya in the ribs half the time. Why can't you leave it in? No different to having internal mag.
This is really my long range setup 400-900y off a bipod and bag. So having 10 shot mag handy means i can put the 2 sighters downrange using the 5shotm, then swap for the large to do the string of 10shots uninterupted.
Yeah for hunting i wouldnt bother with it eh.
You can buy extended magazines for Tikkas providing they are factory from UK
I had some aftermarket 10 shot mags for my tikka, good for cull hunts in Aussie but ridiculous for hunting in NZ, you would need bring along a spade to dig a hole below your rifle.
Be very careful bolt guns may well be next :(
Yup.
Some stupid Australian Politician yesterday said after what happened in Christchurch they need to look at restricting Military style bolt actions.
We need to fight this semi issue hard, there is a chance that we can get some good laws out of this that keep Kiwis safe but don't penalise the law abiding.
But if we just roll over and play dead, then I fear this will only be the start.
Lest we forget National have also jumped on the anti gun rhetoric. Maybe it is time for China to take over NZ.Yeah look at Winston during the PM's parliamentary speech. Both bored and nearly asleep.
I think it is the Act party that are the only ones standing up to this so maybe they should get our votes next election.
It is dissapointing they succeeded by deviding us, places like hunting and fishing coming out in support of a ban is so short sighted, the only reason we got to keep our semi 22s and shotguns is because there are to many for them to afford a buy back, my way of thinking is we need to encourage more people to invest into sporting semi's and center fire rifles, if the only way to stop a ban is to make it to expensive for them to fairly implement that is a tactic we can exploit.
Clearly you have never heard of the United Nations? What I am saying is not tinfoil hat material, but the wishes of a vast movement. It is also policy of countless powerful think tanks, NGOs etc etc. The media is a collective voice behind these groups.
Which rock do you live under?
While it may seem some of us are just ridding the outrage bus, you only need to look at Australia and the UK to see that they will not stop at semis.
This twat in Australia is trying to use the Christchurch event to get "Military style bolt actions" banned.
Sam Lee uses Christchurch tragedy to attempt bolt action ban – Firearm Owners United
Yup and lever actions-they've been in the bad books for a while because they are rapid fire.
I remember reading old American shooting mags from the 70s and earlier back in my teens. way before internet
They identified that anti firearms advocates work on the same principle as any campaigner.
Keep chipping away as every concession is a win.
Their pro firearm organisations like the NRA worked it out and have basically mobilised almost better than the antis.
Never let them take a forward step even though it does make them look like a bunch of nutters.
Similar time frame from back in the 80's but also remember reading something from maybe Greenpeace basically confirming the method.
Stay strong keep going-every time legislation changes for you its a good thing until eventually they get their way
