Are 10shot aftermarket magazines for a Tikka (sporter) ACat and still legal?

I found out they make them for swedes and im keen to import one from Aussie as nobody has them here. Is this ok or woukd that cause my BOLT action to become something else?

The last S and the A that follow it stand for Semi and Auto. We need to stop worrying about bolt actions, pumps, levers. No one even knows what they are.

Ah ok. Cool. One of the things i hate about my rifle is that the 5 shot mag is totally concealed (ie easier to forget and leave it attached which is a big no no)

I'd rather a concealed mag than a bloody big box sticking out the bottom digging ya in the ribs half the time. Why can't you leave it in? No different to having internal mag.

This is really my long range setup 400-900y off a bipod and bag. So having 10 shot mag handy means i can put the 2 sighters downrange using the 5shotm, then swap for the large to do the string of 10shots uninterupted.

Yeah for hunting i wouldnt bother with it eh.

You can buy extended magazines for Tikkas providing they are factory from UK

I had some aftermarket 10 shot mags for my tikka, good for cull hunts in Aussie but ridiculous for hunting in NZ, you would need bring along a spade to dig a hole below your rifle.

Are they single stack? A 10 mag on a SMLE is no problem, barely lower than the trigger guard.

Even on the SMLE, it feeds best with just 5 in the mag. The 10 is just so u can top up with a 5 round charger clip at any time there is a lull in the battle.

    Yup.
Some stupid Australian Politician yesterday said after what happened in Christchurch they need to look at restricting Military style bolt actions.

We need to fight this semi issue hard, there is a chance that we can get some good laws out of this that keep Kiwis safe but don't penalise the law abiding.
But if we just roll over and play dead, then I fear this will only be the start.

There is no "may", the political establishment have made their position very clear. They do not want any "arms" in private hands. Takes decades to implement, one small step at atime.

I'm begin to understand the American stance now, give them an inch and they will take a mile.
If we can stand our ground and keep some of our liberties they may be less inclined to keep on pushing.

At least until the next event they politicize.

Lest we forget National have also jumped on the anti gun rhetoric. Maybe it is time for China to take over NZ.Yeah look at Winston during the PM's parliamentary speech. Both bored and nearly asleep.
