Maybe a subsonic .22 Short with its lighter bullet is safer for some furtive urban pest control. Main thing either way, don't be seen, and don't miss.
Arms Act 1983 extract - they can do you over at a very low threshold:
48 Discharging firearm, airgun, pistol, or restricted weapon in or near dwellinghouse or public place
Every person commits an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or to a fine not exceeding $3,000 or to both who, without reasonable cause, discharges a firearm, airgun, pistol, or restricted weapon in or near—
(a) a dwellinghouse; or
(b) a public place,—
so as to endanger property or to endanger, annoy, or frighten any person.
Note the word ANY person - including any mad hysterical nutter. You still carry the can.
22 birdshot??
for the record becaus epeopple are reading into one comment to much, shooting into a large unoccupied hill with no stock from the edge of urbania.
Have a Bushnell trs-25 red dot if you want it, the gold label one, $170 tyd. Comes with a riser mount adapter if you ever want to use it on a .22AR or a Troy Par.
They are a nice sight for the money.
