22-250
Why do the 22-250 family "mainly" come in a 1-14 twist?
is it a left over from day's gone by when reloading wasn't
as popular?
more of a range of heavier projectiles nowadays so why aren't manufactures moving with the times
and offering faster twist rates in their barrels?

browning and savage both make 1-10 twist 22-250,
I like a Sako with a fast twist, seen as they already have that option in .223 should be a no brainier, but not yet.

Originally it was a wildcat developed in the 30s and no commercial ammunition appeared till the 60s 1:14 twist was where it started same as the swift. Varmint rounds for "red mist" . Barrels faster can be found now as people follow the heavy 223 route

Probably because the majority of shooters/hunters around the world do not reload. They use factory ammo. Maybe it is the ammunition company's that havnt moved with the times?

dont need fast twist for varmint projectiles in the 50 grn range which is what it was made for..as said above "red mist" its only really us mad Kiwis who push bondaries so much and like to slay deer with rabbit guns.
