Back in the day tracer was brilliant at showing up stabilsation issues. I loaded some tracer projos out of SS109 rounds, and reloaded them into my .222.

They would arc gracefully away about 200-250 m away, and then begin scribing a massive corkscrew pattern about 50m in diameter, all the way out to tracer burnout. Almost looked like a guided missile.

Just out of interest, today I worked on a factory 243 tikka with 1 in 8” twist. A first for me

Bought a Tikka 250 a while ago, but haven’t shot it yet.
Need to knock up some loads, I have 748 and 260H is one better than the other?
Or should I be using something else?
    I have 50 & 55gn projectiles for my 222 I was planning on using.

If it has the 1-12 or 1-14 twist, the 55's work great. Work up a load to about 35.5gns of 2206H and then job done.

Most likely cause was the tracer not the rifle. Tracer is long for weight due to the compound being lighter than lead this can lead to marginal stability which only gets worse as the bullet slows. As it burns the centre of gravity changes and a real wobble sets in, quite spectacular to watch really
