    25m zero

Literally just zeroed in at 25m into the coal bunker with my m77 .270 using federal 150 grain powershock after putting on a new scope and suppressor. Ive got nowhere further to test it today. Is it possible to find out the expected bullet trajectoy at say upto 200? Being zero at 25, Where would it be zero again? I realise theres a huge range of variables but lets just say perfect conditions and the ammo performs the way it says it should..

Down load Remington Shoot. It will tell you.. I am going to guess somewhere between 240 and 300. Would call it at 265
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Not the best practice, much better to zero as far away as you can then the errors at close range will be negligible. If you zero at close range the errors at longer ranges can be substantial.

e.g if you're only a fraction out like half an inch at 25m, I doubt you'd even know you were out, but that little error equates to 2'' out at 100y, and 4'' out at 200y ....and if you shoot out to 500y then that would be a complete miss or a gut shot.

I do intend to zero it at 100 but I was just lining things up the best I could at home. We dont have a range down here that I know of unfortunately. Will have to wait till im in the wops.

I always use to sight my rifles @ 100, was told thats the way you gotta do it. But lately i have been zeroing at 25, and I mean exactly zero, and then checking at 100 or 200. And surprise surprise the last 3 rifles have taken me either 7 or 8 rounds to get it right - 2 at 25 and then a 5 shot group at 100 to check zero and group. And all have been exactly where I want them, either 2.5 or 3.5" high depending on calibre and speed. So yes it is possible to get it right at 25, but definitely check it at 100 or 200 as soon as you have the opportunity.

On a slightly different tack, does anyone know of a ballistics calc or website where your starting point is something like 2 inches high at 100, and then get trajectory info ? I guess you could call it an offset...
