    284 win question

    Hey guys question about the above who can give me the OAL of
    A loaded 162 amax to suit a t3 superpig setup etc

    Has anyone done one on a short action rem? Extended mag box or not?

    some one was selling one last year on this forum or the other one based off Rem mountain rifle, they should be able to comment.

    Greg Duley did a 25/284 on a short action. Case length will be the same, but loaded round length will be longer for 284 I imagine.
    I think the longest you will get a Rem 700 SA magazine is 3.150" You can't get a mag box that long though, you will need to cut and weld a long action one to get that length. Greg Duley talks about in his 7mm Fatmax article in the dec 2012/jan 2013 issue 32

    I had a 6.5x284 with wyatt extended mag and bottom milled out. Still wasn't long enough. Even for single feeding it would hit the top of the action on extraction
