Thread: 30 cal suppressor on 7mm rem?

Wondering if there will be much difference (if any) between using a 30 cal suppressor on a 7mm rem mag vs getting another 7mm can? My existing .30 cal is rated for magnums and seems a waste to have two cans sitting in the safe.

It will work fine. If you had a sound tester you would probably notice the 30cal baffles SLIGHTLY louder. I remember DPT talking about it a few years ago. Basically the question was using a .223 with a 30cal suppressor, he said an extra baffle would bring it down to usng the correct side can. But 30cal v 7mm I doubt there would be anything in it.

It will work fine ihave a 30 cal suppressor that I run on my 243 and 6.5s youd probably need pretty good sound measuring gear to pick up much of a difference

I use my 30 cal can on my 280 and 243 sometimes and there's nothing in it to the ear when shooting
