Thread: 300 wsm ammo

I use facotry ammo through my 300 wsm i have been using the Nosler 165 bts mostly as they seem to be always available, and they shoot well out of my Tikka, but id like to step up to 180gr at least for better wind bucking ability, and i see lots more options now back in stock, has anyone used the Federal options in there wsm?? Either the 200gr terminal accent or the 185 berger? I have also tried the 180 norma bondstrike which shot well but is hard to find. Cheers

The Federal Premium stuff loaded with the Bergers is excellent. But spendy.

Stick with what youre using, out 5/ 600 yrds it wont matter much, just a couple of extra wind clicks. The hornady whitetail are fairly cheap, if theres a something cheap today.

I picked up a cheap Sako a7 .300wsm. Grabbed a box of federal premium with the 185 bergers.
2870fps out of 22in barrel, shoot very well for factory loads.

Cool might give the federal a go when i run out of Nosler. Cheers

For what it's worth I have found Norma bondstrike kills well but is way short of the fps claimed on the box

I only buy it for thr brass as can't buy 7prc norma brass anywhere I can find

I think it’s your YouTube channel I just watched. Good shooting and the ballistic tips seem to do the damage.

If you get your hands on bondstrikes I’d be keen to hear a report on their performance and BC.

What speed were you getting as I looking at getting bondstrike

I did a load for a guy that was using 180grn Bondstrike in his 300wsm.
I really struggled to better the velocity it's was around 2950fps.

Yes id say thats me, yeah they do kill very well, they just get affected by the wind further out hence why i may go back to a heavier pill. Yeah i might tell people what bullet and ammo i am using on the next vid, cheers.

Shit i cant remember sorry, i have deleted it off my app. I remember it was down below box number but not a huge amount like the hornady stuff. I think my barrel was 22” then too and its only 20” now, the 165 bts are doing 2972fps which i am happy enough with.
