I shoot 300wsm in remington 700 18" barrel supressed shoot 208 amax at 2800fps 1/2 moa and tested out to 740yards still shoots wicked not keen on it without supressor tho bucks like a bull.

Weatherby Vanguard 300 WSM, 180 Hornady SST 3000 fps, Win brass, CCI primer, ADI 2209, 2.830 oal (mag length-1mm),no powder charge here as is over max (but not by much) .
Shoots bugholes if i hold it TIGHT, recoil is very sharp but not overwhelming. will probably be my go to rifle this year so don't tell my Sako 85 6.5 ,it'll probably get jealous.
fully recomend the caliber as it is almost identical ballisticly to the 300 win mag with anything up to 180 grains, and 200 or 220 gr bush loads don't mind going a little bit slower

In the tikka you can file the block or replace with L mag. You also have to have the bolt stop changed for the L

Interesting, my 30-284 is very very close on the heels of that load 178 amax 2975fps,recoil you know its gone off but my 303 still bruises me.

the most interesting bit for me was you say you hold it "Tight" to group well, I have tried hard hold and free recoil with mine and cannot get as good groups or as consistent POI with a hard hold as I can with free recoil.

Ive a T3 that i use with reloads as the price of WSM ammo here in Scotland is unreal ... Try £88 / $180 NZD for 20 Norma, $120 for 20 Winchester.....rip of Britain.....i use 155 gr Amax wi H4895......i love it, seriously accurate rifle....limbsaver was worth every penny.....

In all honesty, with my experience with this caliber I call bullshit, I've herd of 20in barrels doing 2700 with 208s, but 18in doing 2800 is hard to believe
