    6.5 saum

Who is running one of these and what performance are you getting out of what length barrel etc and overall thoughts on it? Not looking to build one as I have my 7 saum but it's a cal that's always interested me and seems to have a big following in the states...curious if it lives upto the hype over there eg GAP 4s

I imagine it would burn throats out quicker than a well priced hooker.

    Great reading here.

Same performance as the 264 Win Mag but in a short action.

Have you done load development on a .264 Win Mag to see what you can get if you decide to chase sheer velocity?

I might get some 77gr Taipans off a mate to try.

Curious to see what the 100 gr TTSX would run, I seem to hvae a fast barrel.

I see Mr Tiffen convinced you to make the leap to STW. I considered it, but the 264 is about right for the 6.5 bore.

IF I decide to go full retard i will go for a 6.5 GONZO which is a 264-338 Lapua AI... 140's at 3700, 120's at 4000???

    and barrel life would be

Funny, the 6.5mm STW was put into my head about 2pm yesterday from the same man. The data reads well.

Reclaimed 50BMG poweder, half the price of normal powder too. around 87gn from what I've read should get you up around 3400 for the 140s

Dont have to load it right up, just a nice consistence and accurate load. Start with a 26 inch barrel and every 500 round, set it back a half inch.........

Plus, he also has a pile of seconds hand 6.5mm barrels going cheap.
