Not sre on the logistics but i was really inerested in a 6.5/06 for years but all research and the people i talked to that had done it never got that greater results. Might be eaisier just to A.I it or there is another reaming bjai or something like that would probably come close to doing what you want.

Difference in head is small .2mm so miner issue, but the 6.5x55 case is a bigger diameter and that will be a problem.

I owned one. Loved it. I agree with the others tho. I dont see the point. Just AI your 55 and you will only be a smige off 06 speeds.

You probably can't AI the same 6.5x55 same barrel, give that you may intend to tighten the neck specs over a sloppy factory chamber.... but you may get lucky and have a tighter one to work with... If you have enough room and meat in the barrel to work with sometimes you can set the whole chamber foreward by the length of the standard neck allowing you to tighten up the chamber... but you can also have problems extending the existing threads to suit... especially on Sakos..

Ive done a lot with Sakos, done a bit a of lathe work but not actually any re-chambering myself... put together a lot of customs over the years and specifically did a Finnlight 6.5x55 into an Ackley for which it was necessary to replace the barrel as I posted..

Built stocks, tried to reinvent the wheel with wildcats u name it...

I like the 6.5x55 AI though.... sweet wee cartridge..

WAsn't one I'd considered for some reason. Too much shagging around with brass for me.

Your little fingers should be able to fit in there, and pop the shoulders out to AI specs mr wirehunt. Ha Ha
Fireforming is a pain alright, especially when Abe does it. My left ear has still got cicadas flyin around in it.
