You only have to look at the metrics to see how the new innovations are improving performance. The obvious ones are windage and elevation reductions and increased energy on target, through heavier, longer, higher BC bullets matched to faster twists. But there's also new stuff like the 1:3" 8.6 BLK and these insane subsonic projectiles, e.g. Maker's Rex that literally scythes through the animal like a 1000 ft./sec broadhead arrow. Or the latest ultra high velocity lightweight copper projectiles that guys are shooting at close to 4000 ft./sec with next to fuck all drop over crazy ranges (ideal for night time point-and-shoot thermal work). Lots going on and as always some will stick and become mainstream.

It's the latest trend for faster twists to allow heavier projectiles with much better BC to be used but oh no...they are a bit slow now. How do we make this work?
The 277 fury I'd image came about because of the big sandbox war. At times the 223 was a bit light, the 308 ok but guns a bit heavy. The marines developed their own the 6.8 spc which was the right temp porridge and maybe that's how it goes. And let's be honest, for most if let's say they are used to 7mm rem mag and they buy one of these and only use it for hunting the eye watering ammo price may be ok. If they don't reload, not a problem
