Has anyone here done something similar and have any pointers? How do you know how much weight to add? It looks dead simple, but I can see myself fkucking it up.
Would I need to rezero the thing after removing the stock?
Always pays to check zero when the action comes out of the stock.
It depends where you want the weight as to how to go about it. Using epoxy in the front will make it stiffer which is often a good thing with plastic stocks, while weight at the back will help with the balance.
Easiest way to work out how much weight in the back is to take the but plate off and put small lead sinkers in there until the balance feels right. Then you can use one piece of the same weight and use expanding foam to lock it into position.
I used newtech car bog to hold them in my stock, i wouldnt do it again tho, I like light rifles
