Looking at upgrading my Leupold v1 3x9x40 and minox zv3 to a Nikon I had a look at at the gun shop the other day, the Leupold I'm not a huge fan of as I lose the cross hairs when focusing on a target, maybe it's my eyes don't know.? But had a squiz through the nikon monarch the other day and it seemed real nice. I want it to match a howa mini m1500 223 just after some advice and opinions cheers
Tldr:: want new scope to suit how 1500 233 advice please

relax your eye between focus checks

reticle is sharp

against the eyepiece .
I have a Nikon Monarch 3-12x42. Very nice scope to use, I really like it.
The Nikons have nice glass. If you are going for anything above 10x don't get the BDC as its a bit thick with the higher mags.
Another plus for the Nikon Monarch, I have two a 12 power and a 14, both BDC, the BDC works surprisingly well, just put the 3x12x42 on my new .358 win, no problems to hit the gongs at 300 and 400m, good scope for the price.
