    Aimpoint H2 vs T2 questions

so to those in the know

What makes the T2 better for night use than the H2 ?
Is this purely a tactical use situation where ( not in NZ ! ) the target might shoot back at you hence the T2 is the pick ?
Or does this also make the T2 better for spotlighting possums with a maxtoch slug under the barrel.

Or is the H2 just as suitable for day / night use

Just wanting to dig into this issue and decide if one of these might also be a useful option on my G2 contender possuming / packrafting rifle

Pretty sure just the T2 is aimed more for military the difference being that it works with Night Vision Goggles and can go a fair distance under water. H2 is water resistant from memory and doesn't work with NVG. I love my H2.

The H2 doesn't work with NV, as far is I know that's the only difference. I've used my H2 spotlighting and it works fine. It is an awesome bit of kit

H2 doest have the extra low night vision mode but can still be used on its lowest setting- it just is brighter than you may want.
It also has less waranty for water damage, but all the the pictures I have seen of the inside makes the seals look the same as those on the T2.

Have a couple of each, wouldent pay much more for a T2 over a H2

T2 can also be submerged under water 20m or something for the Navy Frogs.

Well being water proof would certainly be helpful with the packrafting and the possuming can be pretty bloody wet at times.
But is the H2 waterproof or water resistant ?

    H2 is 5 meters submersible, T2 is 25 meters.

I don't know what the price for a T2 is over here but if it was more than a hundred bucks over a H2 I don't think it's worth it personally.

I have a T1 and an H2. Sound like a real gear freak now ay. Ha ha. I love em. My T1 has done 8 years of solid pig hunting and now full time on my work 10/22 rabbit rifle. My H2 has done two years of hunting on the job on a centre fire. Both have performed impeccably. They are the top end of red dot sights bar none. They are not cheap but are well worth the money. To be frank, with the T series you are paying for stuff you don't really need as noted by others. Talking to the suppliers the H series is damn near as good as the T series for hunters. You will struggle to break an H2. Or should I say you wont! Get the 2MOA dot, not the 4MOA. You can turn up the brightness on a 2MOA for close work but when turned down it is far more precise. Enjoy. I am comfortably shooting bunnies out to 80m with my T1. I don't think the scope will go back on. Ever!
