New to the game but hopefully the photo uploads
Anyone have any information on Aldis scopes?
Ideally I would love to get this put on a rifle that it belongs on one day

That is very cool, if you'd like to sell it let me know. Pretty sure its a WW1 SMLE sniper scope.

There are a couple of examples on this site https://tinyurl.com/u8bynz3 and the one made for the P14 looks similar. I'd say it's definitely military and must have some markings / stamps on it and the leather case. A photo with the protective caps removed may provide more information.

Fantastic old scope, most of us would kill for that !

Would love to mounted it up on a Old BSA sporter, have a old Pecar on one right now .

Ian McCollum’s vid here shows you what rifle it was mounted on.

You will need a WW1 pattern .303 SMLE rifle as described by Ian if you want the correct piece. These days at the militaria auctions they will run from $600 to $1200 ish depending on originality and bore condition.

Then you’ve got to find an original or repro scope mount and have it fitted to the rifle by someone competent (harder to find that person than you’d think). These scope mounts appear usually every 4-5th annual auction so they’re thin on the ground.

Cool scope though and worthy of the project, especially with the leather carrier too.

Here’s a pic of the 5 screw scope mount base you’d need to find:

Far to valuable for that unless you can match it with an HT rifle. Have you had it valued?

FYI This is a Periscopic Prism Company (PPCo) telescope and not an Aldis Brothers scope. If the OP wants an repro base, they are available in the UK. Almost bought one a little while ago, but sold my PPCo scope so was no longer necessary. Ideally the OP wants needs a 1915 or 1916 dated RSAF Enfield SMLE. I've got a scoped SMLE build simmering away with a Aldis Brothers scope in Purdey mounts. Need to fit the bases to the scope, but that's for another day.
