I find myself thinking of building out a chest pack to carry my 18x56 and my 8x42 on my front. Thinking the Hill People Gear kit bag with a bino pocket on front. I can actually hold the 18s surprisingly steady or at least steady enough that at a quick look I can resolve that level of detail over my 10x30s. So I'd have my tripod in my pack and could still pop out the 18s to answer questions without having to dismount and sit down. I tried my 18x56 and my 10x30 in my HPG kit bag on the weekend and it wasn't too bad. As far as weight goes, the kit bag uses straps to load the weight onto your pack frame. Where I hunt I can be walking a bush track or stalking pretty close to the bush edge but in places can see anywhere from 500m-2km over valleys.
To carry my 8x42s I'll have to invest in a bino pouch to go on the front.
