Any ideas on what I could use for a scope mount?

I've just finished this restore and am now ready to get a scope onto the old girl. 1916 P14 Remmington which was had the ears cut off leaving a nice flat surface on top with a threaded screw hole.

I was hoping to get away with screwing a short picatinny mount onto it and having a scope mount with dual rings.

Do you think that would be strong enough or will it need a hole drilled and tapped further up also.

I'm no expert but I think you'd need at least one more hole or get the rail welded on.

That mount you show would give a chin wield!

Yeah was going to mount a pica tinny then that scope mount above. Or are you talking about the hose clamp mount :)

I was talking about the AR style mount you posted-regardless on how it was mounted to the rifle

HI, you could do a bit more work and grind the back portion into a rounded contour and just get some blocks to fit or you could get a one pice bridge mount .. Grinding the rear to look like a modern action dresses the m16 or p14 up considerably .I have an action which has had that done just waiting for time to get to it or pass it on as is, was going to fit an after market trigger but other projects got in the way lefty1

I'm trying to figure our how that would sit with the screw hole positioned where it is :s

If you look at the BSA factory conversions they have silver soldered (I think) a piece of steel into the oval cutout and then drilled and tapped that
