Just managed to locate some highly inefficient 200 watt light bulbs in Mitre 10 - warms up the insides of the safe to help keep the moisture out, especially in the wetter months...
Or it that just overkill..? Oh, and the few bags of silica gel in there too.. :)
You may be interested in the 125gram desiccants we use at work??
We put them in export containers. Soak up moisture pretty good.
A 200W incandescent would seem a tad of overkill unless you had a very large safe in a drafty room..
I use a wardrobe heater. cheap as at bunnings and made for the job really.
A 40w towel rail is cheaper to buy. I used a 40w bulb in my pump box outside during the frosty months. Personally I'm not keen on desiccants. Lose one in a corner and if it becomes sodden u have a mess. My 5c worth

I've seen guys running strip LEDs in their safes, not for any attempt at heat but just so they can see where everything is
Musicians have a similar problem, I've heard of people running a bulb inside a piano before - all those steel strings and whatnot would want to rust if they could

Not that it provides an answer but I just put one of these in the top of my safe just for light. My safe is inside a dark cupboard and I can barely see anything. It was $16 and came with a Velcro back and you just push lens to turn off and on. Attachment 21917
I just use one of those disposable moisture absorbing pot things you get from bunnings and change it out every few months
