Here is 300calman shooting it a few weeks ago at NZDA. Unfortunately, the light doesn't show the true muzzle flash.

My ears are still ringing!! You definitely want a suppressor with a short barreled .223/5.56. A lot of fun to shoot though.

Never shot an ace stock derivative AR that didn't twang.
Yes lithium grease makes a noticeable difference, but so does a different butt stock. The foam tube that covers the buffer tube almost seems to amplify the noise, rather than muffle it.

Colt or armalite is the only way to go. They are the origional and in my view still the best manufacturers of the Ar15. If you buy one it will last you a lifetime and you won't get wear and tear like you do with some of the alternatives now being imported. You get what you pay for

@Cartman it's really just a question of if you have finished having fun with the 300 then swap and have some fun with the ar. Good luck breaking it or shooting the barrel out.

You need to add H&K, Schmeisser, Daniel Defence, JP and a large number of mill spec+ rifles. While colt and armalite are milspec and well made, metallurgy has come a long way since the spec was written in the 1960s. The NZDF have just chosen Lewis Machine & Tool Co who make the current 7.62 rifle. I am sure they are lasting the Grunt test ok Probably worse than any other firearm test in the world! Otherwise they would not have chosen their 5.56 version as the Steyer replacement

Never noticed the TWANG in my WW until I suppressed it.
    Now it annoys me.
    Lithium grease you say?

Nah I like my 300 and I've got a brand new blr stainless on the way. This toy can wait. Only reason I considered as I just got a pest control contract and thought it would be a good fit. I think a 10/22 and eventually an ar 10 will work well.

If the twang bothers people then the JP silent capture Spring is ideal-I bought one for the ability to tune the spring but the lack of twang is a nice bonus
yeah the silent capture spring is great, im really happy with mine. I got the extra spring set too which is nice for extra tweaking

It is the Chinese shit referred to at the start of this thread. Although I have heard some people have nothing but good things to say about them. Probably people that payed thousands for them years ago when Gun Shitty was the only outfit bringing in ARs

The finish on the BCG is like it was carved out of wood with a blunt screwdriver and they are only worth half what GC charge.
