AR Scope mounts - for those with deep pockets and short arms

Hello - I don't really feel like springing $200 (or gasp - $3-500) on an american set-up (like the AP lightweight).

Has anyone got a recommendation for a reliable cantilever ring mount in the sub $130 sort of money - from NZ or elsewhere?

I've had a look on Aliexpress but there's not as much variety as I expected (and no unbranded copies of US stuff that I can see) - and none match up with the non branded ones I recognise on the AR pictures thread.

    Thanks

So using a different search string I found this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ultr...811123316.html - it is obviously made from the same (or unlikely I'd think copy of) extrusion used to make the mount sold by Aero Precision.

Its very similar to the AP one (the ring position is one difference I can see) but not by very much. Makes you wonder if someone is telling porkies and what is claimed to be made in the good ole US of A is in fact "outsourced". And then you might start to wonder what else is really made . . . . in its claimed country of origin?? Not to mention who is being gouged in all this - couldn't be us innocent consumers surely . . . .

You get full value for your money with the Chinese. That should translate into no fear of buying. Actually, buy a second one to flog at the range.

If you search "PEPR" it comes up with all the Burris clones (i run one on my 22 upper with no problems). If you want the original Rings & Bases - Burris Rings and Bases - Burris AR-PEPR Tactical Mount - The Rifle Scope Store + shipping (I run this on my 223 upper and again no problems). When I got mine it also came with the rings that dont have pic rail as well incase you dont want the tactical look.

Have you recently bought from Brownells?
Was a few folk here saying they have stopped shipping parts to NZ even under 100USD.

Get a cantilever mount off trade me. Got one from a seller by the trade name of Kozac or Benny 146.Cheap as and does the job.Has handled more rough treatment doing goat control work than most people would subject their gear to.Scope holds as consistent zero as any other mount.Gets removed and refitted from time to time when using a red dot in shitty weather.

Thats good to hear, yeah most US based companies have certain agreements that means they can't ship certain products.
Leupold seem to be the worst at stopping their products from being exported.

Has anyone used the Ali express one piece mounts on a 308 center fire? I will probably get a single shot take down rifle in 308 next year and am looking to out a low mag scope on it. If they hold zero ok then it'd be good to see how they go on a bit of recoil.
