No you don't. You do not require an import permit for a barrel for an A Cat rifle, even an AR.Quote:

If you did want to get an import permit to import an AR upper and lower receiver for an A Cat AR build, you can apply and will receive an import permit. You could certainly add that to the order, to make the export permit more worthwhile.

You are wrong. I have already imported AR parts from the USA including lowers so I have a US permit to do so. NZ permits off my AO for A cat is an easy ring up to make an appointment and then a 20min hike to the Police station for the paper work. The issue these days is a) the $250US charge on the order the US State department insists on and b) the exchange rate now sucks, 0.85 v 0.65 is a huge hit. However for about $2kNZD in parts it still is looking economic even paying the landing fees and GST due to the markup on parts.Quote:

So if anybody has shitty TF barrels they no longer want, send them this way :D
