    Ar15 Trigger

    Hi guys.

I have one of those less than ideal gun shitty ar15s but it I can't fault it enough to get rid of it. It still drops everything I point it at. Until I upgrade eventually Id like to sort the rediculously heavy trigger out. Sure a timney would work great but keen to know if there's some lower cost options first. Thought somewhere around 3-4 pound would be good? Any advice would be great, and if someone has something to sell I'm interested

JP yellow springs are the quickest and easiest way to improve the pull weight of a mil spec trigger. It will still be gritty and creepy though. RRA two stage can be had from Brownells for just under $US100 when on sale.

Brownells is doing AR15 sales at the moment so each week they sale some different AR15 parts. Tonight or tomorrow they start a "pin point accuracy" sale week so that might just incl triggers.

Yeah it has that but I'm not impressed my other rifles have a crisp 2 pound on them but they're bolt action I don't want something that light. But it's still horrible and as you say it's still gritty and creepy. My 10/22 has a nicer bloody trigger

Shouldn't need an export permit. I've fired off a request for an import permit.

If its labeled "AR15 trigger" etc then NZ Customs will demand one.
Cover your ass, go see your Arms Officer.
And FYI, we had a thread on this last week :p

Only if it's for an E cat, but getting an import permit anyway never hurts.

Ah my bad on very limited internet. Might just buy one here. Me getting to an AO in the next while is more of a pain in the ass. It's only for an A-Cat

I don't know for certain, but there is a pretty good chance it will be a standard mil-spec single stage trigger (i.e. worth about $20US brand new). If it is, it isn't worth that much second hand. If remington install genuine, quality, name brand triggers in their R15s, I'd be quite surprised.

If you're going to spend $120 plus shipping on a new trigger, hit your AO up for a permit and buy a rock river two stage off of Brownells like Beavis said. It'll be miles (and miles and miles) better than a standard single stage, and will be cheaper to boot.
