    Atlas bipods are very nice....

I've heard nothing but postive things about these bipods and lots of images online but have never seen one in the flesh. So I bit the bullet and ordered one.

It turned up today and I'm pretty impressed.

I NEVER would have considered mounting a rail to the underside of one of my hunting rifles......till today.....

    Took a couple of pictures.

    How much does it weigh?

    Sure looks solid.

    Are those feet rubber?

Yeah, feet are rubber. I've ordered the claws as well so will try both to see what works best on what surface. It's rock solid and the finish is super slick. I will throw it on the scales tomorrow but it feels light.

It's going on my LR build. If they made an adaptor to connect to a stud I would order another one right now. They are MUCH nicer than my Harris and Versapod bipods.

They're brilliant, but also $rape. Slightly lighter than Harris, can get leg extensions etc, I'd have one if it didn't require a rail on my stock

$495 from Greystone Guns in NZ Jeff. You could save maybe $40-$50 if you imported out of the US but I couldn't find anyone with stock on hand.

More work in one of those than a supressor that we all pay $500 for

All the copies of the atlas that are floating around have the patent number on them, so they are a genuine copy
There is a guy on trademe that is or was selling them. Have tried one and they are fine, but wasn't my cup of tea so onsold it.

And missed the opportunity to just give it to me.

Atlas bipods are nice, I know a few longer distance shooters that use them. I can't say i want to install a rail on my rifle myself and i am not a fan of the horizontal pan ability they have.

If you think they are expensive then you shouldn't look at a Sako bipod or a RPS bipod (RPS bipod, RPS tofot | www.Rifle–Precision–System.com) or an elite iron bipod (EliteIron High Quality Suppressors)

You were too late in getting your new toy to bolt it too Rushy, it went South with the xbolt. The versapod style works better for me
