1 thing I have noticed is the pin that holds the QD lever together, comes out easily.
Might pay to peen both ends over to stop the pin dropping out.

Got mine and like it, much easier to extend the legs than anything else I have used. Might need some extensions though for the legs. Hunting/range performance report soon.
Yes i have used one a fair bit and they are a good tripod no two ways about it. I particularly liked the tilt and pan function. For some reason i find the springs a little annoying and noticed they could make noise if miss handled by my clumsy sausage fingers. Particularly if game was in earshot. Best i don't say any more until I have tested the Atlas copy for real.
They arnt any lighter than a Harris
Harris SLM with knotches 9-13"
14 oz
Atlas 4.75-9"
12.7 oz
By the time you add the extensions to get hte same height they will be the same weight.
The leg extensions are 50grams per pair
gday all can someone with a real atlas tell me if they have the same slight amount of play backwards and forwards as these have
cheers D
Yes they do.
The real Atlas, not the knockoff, is 365 grams to the 400 grams of a Harris 6-9" swivel model.
There's a new taller version also which I haven't got my hands on yet, the main issue I found with the Atlas was that it's a little short at times.
The lightweight harris is 310grams or 11 ounces
And once modified is waaaaay lighter

Try a non swivel Harris and watch your groups shrink, i have proved it many many times with high torque rifle/ammo combinations.
At the end of the day a swivel bipod with a podlock would acheive the same?
Correct me if im wrong.
I only had one non swivel out of 5 and sold that.
I have put podlocs on the other ones though
lucky i didn't buy an atlas as i don't like the sloppiness of the atlas i'll say with me harris swivle notch leg it's a lot quicker to deploy
and not as sloppy as an old tart :pacman:
the play in the Atlas is one of the reasons I prefer it, it's better to load for recoil control.
How is play better to load for recoil control please?
The rigid harris legs simply slide on most surfaces when you lean into them, and hop backwards under recoil, the atlas with the different feet and a bit of play allows you to actually load it and has some capacity for rearward movement under recoil without the feet having to move
