Mine is a 16" 308 in a Walnut stock, so a tad heavier than a CF example. Shoots very nicely, consistent 30-40mm 3 shot groups at 100m.
But it's very hold sensitive, going from free recoil on the front rest to artillery hold makes a small difference, a proper grip on the foreend with hand supported by the front rest was most consistent for me. I tried the "hand on scope" hold and it moved the point of impact by a good 90-100mm. You'd want a fair bit of practise with it before trying to snot animals much past 200M.
That’s why I was wondering if the Longer 20 inch barrel would help in regards to shooting distance?
