    Best euro optics available

Ok so thinking of putting a few things on the chopping block e.g nightforce scope and barnard 338edge plus a few other scopes and just getting a couple of good ones.

Firstly, i have a forbes 308 and currently has a cheap scope on it, looking at upgrading. What i want is a low bottom end e.g 3 or under and a top end of 10 or up. Don't want to put a tank on it as its a light rifle. Ideally i want something with a 5x+ mag increase. A vx6 2-12 ($1100 USD) seems obvious but have heard a few problems and maybe not quite what im after. Other option is a Leica 2.5-10x42 ($1,600 USD) or maybe a Z5 3.5-18 but seems a bit big and overkill for the 308. What else is out there in the sub $2000 USD range?

Secondly, I want to upgrade the glass on my 300wsm (this might also get rebarreled to 7mm wsm). Currently have a bushy 6500 on it but would like a wee upgrade. I think a 3-16x44mm vx6 would suit this quite well? Don't want to spend as much on this one.

    Cheers for suggestions

Have you looked at the Zeiss Hd5
3-15x50? The vx6 you mention is a great scope, the glass is not as good as the others you mention, but still fine.
    Happy shopping

The weight is quite high on the zeiss according to specs? But yes very good option and it had slipped my mind. Would probably go with the HD5 on the wsm instead of the vx6

Shit brads the zeiss do look quite nice, the 2-10x42 with the rz600 reticle would go bloody well on the forbes actually

Definitely nice mate. I've got the 3-15x42 HD5 rz600. 3/4 the price and weight of some of the others.
Light, fn clear, light and good mag ranges.
    I only own Zeiss now.

Does the 3-15 have exposed turrets? Seems like the 2-10 only has caps but it's no biggie as will be using the holdover reticle for this one

My 3-15 HD5 has pull up lockable dial turrets. Marvellous. They don't seem to be available on the 2-10 though.

I see a Swaro 3-18 in my future, the Leica looks good too.

Swarovskis are the ducks nuts. I have a zeiss as well, which is a good scope in its own right, but the swaro is brighter. The 3-18x44 is a fantastic option. I have the larger model on my 270 and wouldn't change it. You could also look at the Z3 4-12x50 or the 3-10x42. The z3s are brighter and lighter than a vx6.

If you go to Euro optic, you'll get that leica ER you mentioned above for around 950USD so long as you don't want the i model, the only difference between the Er and the ERI is on the i model the reticle is illuminated
I bought one a couple of months ago, beaut glass, good people to deal with.
