    Best handguards for ar15..

    Soo....

Im looking at getting an ar15 again, a good handguard is important for me, i want a nice slim forend, ideally ending close to the muzzle so a 15" on a 16" barrel then im thinking a waitaki can??

    Any suggestions?

something like this looks good to me https://nzar15.com/store/parts/rails...ed-rail-system

    Cheers

    Mate - a plug for NZAR15
    I just bought the MI Gen3 M-Lok rail(15" rail on a 16" gun)
    https://nzar15.com/store/parts/rails...lok-rail-black
Very happy with it, nice, slimline and lightweight profile that feels comfortable to hang on to.
Simple barrel nut system that is very easy to fit and doesn't require to be timed, but it locks up to the gun rock solid.
Also have a Seekins NOXS rail on another gun, which is another really nice lightweight handgaurd.

ALG EMR. Slim. Light. Rock solid fixture to barrel nut. Not expensive either.

Looks very similar to my JP one. It is not that light but I like it.

I'd go ALG if you can source one, or BCM KMR if not running an adjustable gas block. I've used Knights rails (legacy technology), Geissele (Super sturdy well beyond what is needed, but heavy), Daniel Defense RIS II/Light/Omega X/Omega (Sturdy, mid weight), BCM KMR (Light, sufficiently strong, very thin (to an extent where only limited types of adjustable gas blocks fit underneath), Troy (old model and never again, god awful clamping system). Haven't tried Noveske or newer JP rails. I'm a big fan of the HK style barrel nut used by Geissele/BCM etc
